Lands & Water Advocate
Zoe Barker (she/her) has been with CVNM Education Funf full-time since Sept. 2021. Zoe received her B.S. in Geography, focused on Environmental Science, from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. While there she developed a deep passion for water resource management and public lands, and even worked to promote women in the geography field.
Zoe grew up in Santa Fe, but her family moved to Texas while she was in high school, and she spent the following 10 years living in Austin. She then came back to New Mexico to pursue a legislative aide contract with CVNM, before a planned graduate program in Iceland, but the pandemic and her love for the work she was doing while back in New Mexico led her to stay in Santa Fe and she hasn’t looked back since.
Since returning to the Southwest, she loves being able to explore the mountains of Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado with her husband and dog, Olly, where they enjoy skiing, camping and hiking. Zoe also has a deep love for reading, and has set a goal to read at least 24 books a year.
