As our state’s largest utility, PNM should be leading the way in developing the abundant renewable resources of wind and solar energy – but instead, they plan on doubling down on fossil fuels. PNM’s San Juan Generation Station near the Four Corners will be shutting down two units, but the utility company wants to replace it with polluting energy like coal, nuclear and minimal renewables. This is not the energy future New Mexico deserves. Renewable energy provides opportunities for local jobs and protects our air and water from pollution that comes from coal-fired power plants.
Our fight for more clean energy and a healthier future continues. Thanks to you, over the last several months we’ve exposed and fought back against PNM’s dirty energy plan. But the final decision hasn’t been made yet, so there’s still time to speak out. Help protect our scarce water and the air we breathe from polluters who put their profits over our health and our future.
